I figure that MOST drivers out there have no idea what these hand signals mean…so I feel it is better for cyclists to make their intentions as clear as possible by POINTING IN THE DIRECTION of intended travel (the above “left turn” and “alternate right turn”). Messing around with the other signals is only asking for confusion.

I agree with Ghost rider, I always use the ‘alternate’ right turn signal. It makes more sense.

I also use the ‘alternate’ right turn signal. The standard signal looks like you are saying “hi” to someone, or waving “thanks”.
