Serenity Now melts the anger away!
Last night Priscilla and I were watching Seinfeld and it was the episode about “Serenity Now.” If haven’t seen it, basically everyone says this term when they are getting frustrated or mad. But the bad part is they all snapped by the end of the show because all it does is bottle up your anger.
Ok back to Serenity Now…as I drove in to work today….yes I drove in. I’ve only been here a week so I haven’t been able to guage if and when I could ride my bike to work. Anyhow, I’m sitting there in traffic, listening to talk radio and getting frustrated on the stop and go mess that I’m in on the 57 and 5 freeway.
Then I yell, SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!!
Didn’t work! I’m still mad!
I then yell another term from the show, “HOOCHIE MAMA!!!!!!!!!”
Still not working….I’m about to snap on the freeway! So I breathe slowly and try to envision myself riding my fixie or mountain bike….ahhhhh….now that’s relief! I have a ride scheduled tomorrow with some guys on the trails and I can’t wait to blow of some steam and have a good time.
I’ve learned this morning that Serenity Now and Hoochie Mama doesn’t work….man it does leave you more mad than anything. But what has worked is me dreaming about the wind brushing my long flowing hair and the sun kissing my skin….ah….now that’s what I’m talking about!
But you know what…its fun to say HOOCHIE MAMA!!!!!! Go on…say it to your coworker. But don’t come crying to us if you get stung by a sexual harrasment suit.
