Timely! A co-worker inquired about this very thing. She was hit by a cyclist (sounded like a mutual at-fault). She gave her info to the cyclist (college student) but did not get info from the cyclist. No police report. She got home and realized that she had a very large dent/scrape to the hood of her car (over $1200). So basically, she should have gotten the cyclists info and then found out what sort of insurance might have covered it.
