No surprises there…World hour records (indoor and outdoor) are ALWAYS on fixed-gear bikes. I think that the UCI requires it.

Eddy Merckx did it on a fix, Francesco Moser did it on a fix, Graham Obree did it on a fix, Chris Boardman, etc. Hell, even the greats from way back when (Fausto Coppi, Jacques Anquetil) did it fixed.
