Priscilla has this bike that we’ve been trying to sell. She won it on a contest and it barely has any miles on it…less than 10 to be exact. The bike retails for about $580 and we’re selling it way cheap. But for some reason, no takers.
Here’s the specs:
Giant’s Women’s Cypress EX has classic styling and top-notch components! Its agile aluminum frame and easy-rolling 700c wheels make getting up to speed easy, the 7-speed drivetrain flattens the hills, and the linear-pull brakes deliver excellent stopping power. Best, the EX is luxuriously comfortable with an upright riding position, a suspension fork and seatpost to smooth rough roads and trails, and a really nice saddle.
So if you could, let me me know why you would or wouldn’t buy this bike…it is a perfect commuter.

That’s a great deal with the 7 speed internal hub. I’d consider it for my wife, but I just bought a Pake Nu Nu from Banning’s Bikes for my wife last Sunday. That’s the Urban 6 speed that they make. Components aren’t nearly as nice, but I like the frame. I have no idea why your bike wouldn’t sell at that price. Did you put it on Craigslist? The only reasons i wouldn’t buy it are the front shock and seatpost shock. Those comfort commuter bikes already have the relaxed geometry and huge saddles.
Check out the polls, it looks like hybrid bikes and sub $250 bikes are not as desirable for commuting. Maybe for recreational purposes?
First, what size is it? Second, would you or your LBS ship it to the other coast?
It’s a medium. Possibly a women’s 17. I’d have to double check.
I wouldn’t bother with the LBS since I can package it and ship it myself. I’d only charge $45 to ship to all 48 states.
My wife is in need of a new steed (and she likes this model), but she is only 5′ 1″. Ill have to check my LBS for a 17″ and see if it fits her. Feel free to email me the specs when you get a chance to double check the frame size.
