Wouldn’t it be awesome if vehicle drivers were alert to the amount of space you and your bicycle need to safely pass you and to make commuting in densely populated, urban areas more comfortable? What if every road you pedaled on had a clearly marked, visible bike lane to get you to your destination? Aside from pre-riding your commuting route with a can of white spray paint or waiting for the government to paint bike lanes, it’s pretty much up to the rider to make yourself visible. What if you could create a bike lane that moved with you and solved the problems above, while turning more people on to using bikes as transportation?

This is one of the most brilliant ideas we’ve seen for bikes in a long time. I’d like to see it adjustable for out to three feet to the side of you, but even a two-foot margin is better than nothing.
I have developed a bike saftey flag that does the same as the light system. This was done five years ago and the market research showed it would not sell. I thought otherwise and made 200 production quality prototypes. Guess what. The market research was right. I still have 175 units and the ones that are gone were demos or gifts.
By the way… it worked both day and night and I ride with it each time I ride. Good work and good luck with the sales. Great idea.
Can send you photo if you like.

Hey Glenn,
I’d like to see a pic of your prototype.
Genius! I love the idea.
What I like about the idea of doing this with light is that it doesn’t actually put a physical object out there. I wouldn’t put something on my bike that would get in the way when splitting the lane.
Why not just use a flag? There’s no way the light can be bright enough to work in the daytime.
