tragic for sure!
yet another reason I won't ride the twisties, I save doing that for off road.

I have a bit of a differnt view, as cyclist, we have to recognize that in todays world, people are talking on their cell phones while driving and we as cyclist have to take our own safety into our own hands and realize and accept that if we chose to ride the twisties or ride in heavy traffic that we have a greater chance of being hit/killed, and then take precautions to minimize the risk. if that means walking the bike then walk it, if that means staying off a bad part of the canyon/mountain roads, stay off. Its time to take resposibility for you own actions.

All that said, that event was tragic.

It's very tragic to be sure. Unfortunately, some drivers will continue to drive without regard for cyclists on the road. We all see ,at least a few times a day, drivers with cell phones in their ears, speeding, and just not paying attention. My sympathy to that family and all the families who lost a loved one like this.

That's awful. I just hope that drivers everywhere realize that slowing it down and staying off all the devices will prevent a lot of unnecessary things from happening to innocent people.
