A friend gave me this old saddle that came off a late 70′s Peugot.
It has the same styling as Brooks Saddles.
I think with a bit of leather conditioner, I maybe able to somehow make this dried out, shrivilled up saddle into something nice…I’m just hoping the rails are not bent.
I didn’t find much info on this brand other than this place.

Norex looks to me like an Ideale knockoff. Ideale was the Brooks of France, but without the same comfort reputation.
Hit that saddle with some saddle soap and conditioner, but avoid mink oil and the like. You don’t want to prematurely soften the leather too much until your butt has a chance to mold things on its own.
So far, the best leather conditioner I have found (and I have tried too many to count) is Obenauf’s LP ( http://tinyurl.com/2237js
). It will preserve and waterproof your leather without causing it to deteriorate. If you need to soften it (as you probably do, with this saddle), the make a version that is liquid. You can soak the underside of the saddle and gently warm it to allow the oil to soak in. It should rejuvenate the leather, and help it break in quickly. Have fun!
Is “Norex” a subsidiary, then? Or a model of Ideale? Either way, pretty cool find. Good to resurrect old goodies like that!
As long as the leather isn’t dried out to the point of cracking it should be salvageable with what’s been suggested.
Ooof, my scrot aches every time I look at those saddles. Good luck with it RL, it sure looks like an antique.
I have two Brooks. What a revelation the first one was! It’s not the padding, it’s the flex.

I have a Norex saddle that came on my Pugeot bicycle when i purchased the Pugeot from Mike Walden’s Bike Shop in Detroit Michigan back in 1974. It’s the exact same saddle that you have. I’m putting it on my new bike! It’ll take a few rides before your butt gets used to it.
