There is a strut that rests against the steering tube. When you steer the bike left and right, the strut will rub off the paint during your first use, then will start rubbing the metal thereafter. The manufacturer does not care. They say "We think the best solution is to wrap the part of your steering column that rubs against the strut with some kind of adhesive bandage, such as “moleskin”."
