I started bike commuting recently, and had some very close calls. These close calls motivated me to learn how to deal with bad drivers, only to learn that it was my bad riding that was probably precipitating many of the close calls.

So I subscribed to several bike commuter blogs, and started to learn about the road. I am also reading “Traffic, how we drive and what it says about us”. I recommend this for anyone using a road for anything.

As a result, yesterday was a great day for me. I had a very orderly commute. I rode predictably, attached a mirror, obeyed the laws, took my lane when I needed it, and thanked good drivers. I didn’t chase or flip anyone off. I made it home exercised and calm.

    Thanks for your great blog.
