You know utility bikes are going to hit the mainstream soon when the LA Times runs a story on them. There has been a lot of development in the “long tail” market but what about front-loaders and long-johns?
Up until now, the pickings have been slim. There is Bilenky, CAT (Center of Appropriate Transportation in Eugene), Velorbis and the Bakfiets that CleverCycles sell.
Poking around the web, I discovered a new one (to me atleast). Based in Denmark, meet the Bullitt – a modern, fast, long-john by a shop called Larry vs. Harry (gotta love it!). More photos of it at this guy’s flickr.
