I’d love to find a bag similar to this but that basically just holds a laptop. Maybe suspended a bit so it has some shock-absorbsion. You know of something like that?

typically, these bags aren’t made to carry too much… though you could fit an ASUS computer in one of these, so it depends on the size of your laptop

that might be the closest…otherwise, I’d say throw the lap top into a carradice saddlebag
I like the looks of the Acorn bags. Not as fussy as Berthoud but not as utilitarian as the Carradice. The only shortcoming is they’re just as difficult to find as Carradice. It seems that Acorn bags are actually on sale for a matter of hours before they sell out. That’s good for them, but tough on customers.
Russ, I know you live in sunny California, but any experience on the waterproofness of the unwaxed cotton duck? I use Carradice primarily and they hold up well in rainy Florida. I still keep things I don’t want wet in garbage bags, but my bags are pretty waterproof, being waxed.
