Here’s what you can win!

We’re looking for the correct answer to a question, that Ashley Hudson (big cheese) of Outlaw Bags came up with. If there are multiple correct answers, then naturally we’ll have to pick one out of the hat. Oh and multiple entries will automatically disqualify you from the contest. Staffers as well as immediate family members of Staffers do not qualify. That means if Jack’s son enters, it won’t count. But if Jack’s cousin’s best friend’s brother’s great uncle, twice removed…well I guess he would could…you get the drift.

  The Outlaw Earth bags look pretty much like my well-loved Timbuk2 bag. My laptop-style messenger bag is now several years old and is showing no signs of wear.
  
  If the Outlaw bags are even half as cool as Timbuk2′s, they should last forever. I’m sure the contest winner will be very pleased.

  Those are great looking bags…reminiscent of both Timbuk2 and Chrome — a blending of the best ideas from both lines. I’d sure love to try one!
  
  By the way, that contest question is HARD! I’m a professional reference librarian…things like this get my motor running. However, I’m utterly stumped. Good thing I’m not eligible to win anyway!!

  You’re eligible to enter. My bro is in the Army so when they switched to the new Digi Camo, he gave me a ton of his told stuff. Things like jackets, pants, shirts and etc. At one time he made me a hydration pack.

  Hey, RL- Sorry for the delayed repsonse, but I’m not sorry for my comment. I’m the guy that has to do the annual fatal traffic accidents maps for this county, and we average one traffic fatal every three days. No, not all of them are cyclists- but far too many are. As you should know, a huge part of staying safe is being seen, and wearing black or camo when you ride is absolutely counter-productive to that critical safety factor of visibility. I don’t fault the design and workmanship of those bags, as they look to be of top quality. My only concern is the (lack of) colors used. I understand both black and camo are the current edgy trendy urban preferences, but for those of that buck the trends and prefer to avoid emergency rooms, you might want to offer some high visiblity options to the line up. Live cyclists do tend to buy more.

  That’s all you had to say! Thanks for letting us know about the visibility. I’m sure that’s why Outlaw Earth put in the white straps on the flap. But you do bring a good point and we appreciate it. If you have suggestions on which colors would work better for visibility, I’m sure sending an email to Ashley Hudson would be greatly appreciated.

  RL, I’m kinda hoping those white straps are reflective. (Are they?) The top colors for visiblity are white, orange, yellow and (at #1) that wild bright hi-viz lime green you see being used more and more these days. (The hi-viz bright lime green also seems the most visible in broad daylight as well.) Also, solid colors show up in traffic much better than any sort of stripes or patterns, as it’s all about the square inches. since these bags cover a large part of a cyclist’s back, these bags should be the first line of any cyclist’s defense in traffic to get noticed, and get some repsect from motorists. Big bright colors are the way to go.

  As someone who spends a lot of time riding at night(I’m a borderline insomniac with a long commute), I wish bag makers would be liberal with the reflectivity.
  
  I would not have a problem with a bag that had HUGE swaths of reflective material on the flap. I added 3M Diamond Grade reflective tape to my Chrome bag. But I’m a geek and such.

  I thought I would give a little bit of a hint since I’ve been getting a few emails for some help! The US Pro racer is indeed a Cyclocross racer but is not pictured on the website…Good luck! A little confusing but the question wasn’t suppose to be too easy! Ashley

  It seems that you’ve put a good amount of time into your post and I want a lot more of these on the web these days. I did a search about the topic and I guess many people might agree with your post. Well, anyways it sure was worth reading for me.
