This bike looks pretty neat, stylish and unique.I've been wanting to purchase a folding bike for some time now, and I'm trying to decide which one's the model to go with. I do really like this Jango Flik, but I've also been looking at Montague's full-size Crosstown folding bike. I guess white is a look I like, but the 700c tires of the Crosstown also sound more in tune with city riding. Any suggestions?

I feel like this bike wouldn't be able to handle all the things I put my folding bike through. Although it's nice that it folds down smaller than mine, my Montague folding bike still folds down to a carry-able size, and it has full-size wheels for good city riding. The full-size wheels and frame have served me well over the past 2 years. I have standard fenders and a rear rack on it too.

I'd find out what size that rear shock was and swap it out toot sweet. Perhaps something a in a Fox Float RP23? That would solve the "boingies" Then again, I wouldn't buy a dual squish (much less a folding one) for in town use. My opinion - YMMV

Great review! I think the shuttle mode option would be worth the extra money. You're right though; great folding mechanism and the generic components worked fine for me, too. All in all a fun ride.

I'm convinced that anything but a really stubby "mini-fender" (read: ineffective) on the rear of this bike would interfere with the folding action of the Flik. Because the rear end of the bike pivots on the back wheel as it folds, the result would be that a regular fender would be the point of contact on the ground rather than the back tire.

@Ghost- Nice review. You're right about fenders on a folder; by one token, you could use it as simply a fair-weather bike and just fold it and transport it in a trunk or on public transit when the weather is foul. But for those multi-modal commuters who use the bike regularly as one leg of their commute, fenders are a must. Even those tiny wheels can send water flying up and leave a stripe up your backside. I can just picture you going “boingyboingyboingy!” down one of your cobblestone roads. :-)

Matt, check your unit conversion. Multiply 5kg by 2.2 lbs...giving you around 11 lbs. of cargo limit on the rack.

Rack limits are on the conservative side as well...I'd feel comfortable adding 20% or so more weight than the manufacturer says.
