Bike Winter – Chicago’s Bike Swap and Expo

This past Saturday Chicago’s Bike Winter organized the inaugural Bike Winter Swap and Urban Bicycle Expo.

The Bike Winter organization (all volunteer-run) hosts a number of events each year in Chicago and welcomes other cities to join in the bike winter fun.

Free fleece balaclavas abound each winter – thanks to the contributions of materials and labor from dedicated cyclists who want to help others stay warm on the bike; I was lucky enough to receive one of these Bike Winter warmers and I wear it proudly!

A myriad of winter cycling tips and tricks will help get you through even the worst of days – from layering to bike handling.

Through the efforts of many volunteers and vendors, this winter bike swap was a wintry success! (even the Active Transportation Alliance says so).
