Never thought anyone else had this problem, as all of my friends and family listen to the same songs over and over and never seem to be bothered. I can simply think of a work and a song will be in my head. A horrible thing to have to live with; it has ruled my life and it stinks. Always wondered how musicians can go on tour and sing the same songs over and over and over again and still be sane.

This plagues me! Always random, like songs from school growing up. Recently, the Filet of Fish song. Give me back that Filet of Fish, give me that fish...constant loop for the entire 11 miles there.

Just sing the first couple of bars and make up something else to follow. Do that once or twice and the next time it pops up your brain won't know which way to finish. Result - one dead earworm!

Today I had "It's Raining Men!" by the Pointer Sisters, which was timely since it was misty out on my bike ride. Yesterday I saw a guy sitting in his car singing VERY LOUDLY and enthusiastically to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance". I also started singing "Poisoning Pigeons In the Park" by Tom Lehrer when I passed by a flock of the flying rats today.

Hmm. I guess most of the songs that pop up in my head have a theme. A tricky ride around some emergency vehicles on a Sunday morning brought up "Jesus Loves the Little Children".

I hope the sound of the World Cup vuvuzela trumpets don't affect my rides as the month goes on. I may go nuts making a crazed buzzing noise.

I had The Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show stuck in my head during an entire commute last week. I think my pelvis was hurting and there's a line in that song about "the pelvic thrust". Go figure.

I remember when I rode that I would do the noises from the 80's version of Knight Rider. I would even sound out the 'whew whew.' You know, KITS red trail light going back and forth.

Lately, with all the hockey hoo-hah in Chicago, I've been listening to The Hanson Brothers a lot. Not the "mmmbop" kids, but the awesome Vancouver hockey punk band. They have a song called "My Game," and it gets stuck in my head a lot when I'm biking and have to overtake the lane, and I change the lyrics to "It's my lane!"

I do not wear headphones when riding the street, so i make race car sounds in my head, and maybe sometimes out loud. I do get some funny looks when i slam on the brakes.

Enjoyed reading the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody, I sometimes spontaneously break into that song but can only remember bits and pieces of it. I should just memorize the whole thing.
Road to Nowhere by Talking Heads plays in my head often while cycling. And the theme song to the 1960's TV series Flipper. LOL
