Commuter Profiles…Anyone Interested?

Longtime readers of know that we periodically feature fellow commuters in our “Commuter Profile” category. You can see some of the past profiles by clicking here. From the beginning of our site, we’ve wanted to bring a human face to bike commuting…and by featuring fellow riders, we’ve all learned tips, heard funny or terrifying stories and generally had a good time getting to know each other via the Web.

Well, it has come to my attention that we haven’t done one in almost a YEAR…and that just ain’t right. Sure, a few folks have expressed interest but things don’t pan out…we either get a partially-filled out questionnaire, a questionnaire with no accompanying photographs, or we simply never hear from a person again. Very frustrating.

So, I’ll ask again — is anyone interested in submitting their gritty details to the harsh light of Internet stardom? If so, please contact me at ghostrider[at]bikecommuters[point]com and I’ll be happy to fill you in on the procedure, give you a blank questionnaire, etc. Heck, there may even be tokens of our appreciation with every successful profile submitted! And remember, if you want to do this, you’ll be rubbing virtual shoulders with no less than celebrity bicycle blogger Bike Snob NYC, who was profiled right here years before the Wall Street Journal outed him.

We look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Jordan

Here’s a story profiling bike commuters and their tips for safety, clothes and everything – is this the kind of feature you have in mind?

  2. Ghost Rider

That’s a nice feature…thanks! But, we’ll stick to our own format for now. Interested parties are rolling in like crashed GC contenders on yesterday’s “Stockeau Massacre”.

  3. Iron_Man

I’m a little long overdue for sending one in.

  4. Ghost Rider

Iron_Man…what are you waiting for? 😉

  5. Raiyn

Unlike the Snob, I think I’ll continue to lurk in the shadows.

  6. Anatoly

I would be interested in doing a profile – I commute year-round in Phoenix, AZ, about 6.5 miles each way.

  7. Ghost Rider

Anatoly, please contact me using the instructions found above.

  8. John the Monkey

If you’re interested in one from the UK, I’d be happy to fill one out.

  9. John the Monkey

oops – just seen the contact link – have sent a mail.
