Fun stuff! Good writing! I am a bike commuter too! And an architect! I am just starting out on the bike thing- in my second year of cycling about half the week. I would love to submit a profile! I am in Philadelphia and the bike culture here is pretty solid and growing. I mean, I don’t sit in bike traffic jams or anything, but there are times there are more of us (bikes) than them (automobiles) waiting for the light to change. Would love to give an east coast perspective in a city that seems to like bikes.

M is my hero. I agree! She needs to be a regular writer here! Wish I could make a mini bike commuter profile however I live 2 blocks from my work haha so I wouldn’t really consider that a difficult commute. BIKES FOR LIFE!

Swamp Crotch Cure: Witch Hazel from your drugstore. Slather/slosh/spray it wherever you sweated (everywhere). Shower in a bottle at cost of 10 cents a day.

At Hawaii Bicycling League (hbl.org) we are so happy to have commuters like Miriam who “ride aloha.” I try to do the same on my commute — good morning, thank you, hello, smile, we’re all in this together.

Mir Gee is my hero. Without her awesome bike advocacy skills I would still be walking 2 miles to work. Thanks to her I now cruise a Kona Dew…and believe me, it always does. Not mentioned above is Mir’s love for all things safety yellow.

@BikeWicked: Glad you enjoyed… I have to say, if you have a busy schedule, the easiest way for advocacy is to say ‘Hi’ while biking! Sometimes people look at me like, “am I supposed to know this crazy person, or is this a meth-addict on a bike?” Does that count for awareness?
