You may have read some of our previous articles about the Mobile Bicycle Repair Unit in the past few months.

We’ve received quite the response from our readers and fans who want to come out and help. As great it is to get volunteers, we also need donations of hard goods. The bicycles we service are in desperate need of the following:

Brake hardware: pads, cables, housing, ferrules, end caps

Shifter cables/housing, ferrules, end caps

Inner tubes: 26″ and 700c schrader valve (car valve type)

Lights:Front and rear bicycle lights

Locks: Combination, key and other types of locks are needed.

Now that you know what we need, here’s how you can get involved.

I own or work in a bike shop, how can I help?

If you’re a bike shop employee or owner, you can set aside any take off parts and one of us can swing by and pick up the parts from your shop.

I work for or own a Bicycle Related Parts/Accessories company, how can I help?

We would love to work with you! You can send us hard goods or even come out to one of our monthly events and help out. Let us know that you want to be part of it: info@bikecommuters.com

How to get us the stuff?

If you are not local to Orange County, Ca. you can ship out a box of donated good to our world HQ in Fullerton Ca. Please send us an email: info@bikecommuters.com with a subject title of “Donations” and we’ll provide you an address to send the items to. But if you are near Fullerton, Ca. we can arrange one of our representatives to pick up your donated goods from your shop, office or home.

Can I send money as a donation?

Yes you can! We would be happy to accept monetary donations through our PayPal account: info@bikecommuters.com. With the money, we can purchase these hard goods from various vendors we currently work with so we can get the best pricing.

That’s about it, again, any type of help we can get would be appreciated. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us by email or by comment.
