FTC Disclaimer

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued new rules that go into effect on December 1, 2009. These rules state that product reviewers on blogs such as Bikecommuters.com/MtnBikeRiders.com/Thebikegeek.com must disclose whether they received review products for free or received monetary payment for such reviews.

Periodically, the staff here at Bikecommuters.com and MtnBikeRiders.com receives “freebies from product and clothing manufacturers; other times we simply get a short loan period to review a product and then back it goes to the manufacturer. We have never, and will never, charge for a review or accept money from a company in order to get a favorable review. We just don’t play that way.

Sometimes, we will review a product from a company that advertises on or otherwise helps sponsor our family of sites. In those cases, we make it clear to those companies that such advertising does not guarantee a favorable review. We strive to maintain objectivity – we believe that our “real world experience with products we review is the very best way to share information about those products with our readers.

If you have any questions or concerns about this disclaimer and our reviewing policies, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@bikecommuters.com

  11. Where are the negative reviews if you’re so balanced and objective?

  12. Have you actually read the reviews or are you just hiding behind the internet pointing fingers? For the record not every review is a 5 star “Must Buy” kind of deal. Generally they do tend to be positive in that “different strokes for different folks” kind of way. I don’t feel that anyone’s objectivity has been compromised in the slightest.

  13. You want “fair and balanced” go watch Faux news

  14. Hey, my name is Sof, I’m part of the SEO team at Wow Internet. I recently sent you an email about how we do SEO and blogging for Land Rover Bikes, and I realised our blogs are similar. I really enjoyed reading the blog, and if you were able to provide us with some relevant info and news (which again, we’d cite you clearly as the providers of) we’d be available to do some guest blogging for you whenever you needed it, as well as promote you via the blog and the social media campaigns currently being set up. here’s a link to the blog: http://www.landrover-bikes.com/blog/

Hope to hear from you soon
